DOT PATTERN LIGHT

Dot Pattern Light is a wall lamp made of metal with a G9 light source.
The Dot Pattern Light collection combines modern lighting technology and industrial production with the original graphic design of Charles and Ray Eames.
Charles and Ray Eames initially designed the Dot Pattern motif for a textile design competition at MoMA, Museum of Modern Art in New York, in 1947. Although the design was never produced while Charles and Ray were alive, it has become one of the most iconic textile patterns of the couple.
Dot Pattern repeats various abstract cross-shaped compositions made of tapered lines and round dots. Some see in the rhythm and shape of the pattern a reference to musical notes, while others find parallels with the famous Eames chairs and their tubular steel frames, shock mounts, and rounded seats and backs. After the 1947 textile design, the compositions of lines and dots remained a recurring motif in the work of Charles and Ray, such as in the metal rods and colored wooden spheres of the 1953 Hang-it-All, and even in the Multiplication Machine, an installation for the 1961 Mathematica exhibition.
In collaboration with Eames Office, founded by Charles and Ray in 1941 and now led by their grandchildren, Cassina has followed the Eames' insight by developing Dot Pattern into a three-dimensional design. Leveraging the company's research and innovation capabilities, this collection of wall and pendant lamps combines modern technology and industrial production, fully respecting the original intent of the Eames.
Each lamp, available in matte black or white finishes, plays with a combination of four to eight dots, available in two wall models and two pendant models, all of which are dimmable.
