CONSOLE DORON

The Doron Console is a half-moon-shaped console made of solid Canaletto walnut wood in a low-gloss finish, or lacquered in matte or glossy finishes in the following colors: comfort, marron glacé, sage green, China red, midnight blue, black, petrol, powder, cream, ash.

Designed in 1947, the Doron Console takes its name from the legendary Hôtel du Doron in Méribel, located in the Savoie region of the French Alps, a place that Charlotte Perriand, a great mountain enthusiast, frequently visited.

The console stands out for its unique and architectural aesthetic, which enhances the evocative texture of the wood. In a crescendo of volumes, the sculptural top is outlined by a sinuous, asymmetrical wave, with its inclination slightly varying from one end to the other—a detail that reflects the craftsmanship of Cassina’s woodworking. Developed to be fixed to the wall, the console is supported by a single cylindrical leg, giving lightness and visual harmony to the model while ensuring greater stability.

The remarkable versatility of the console makes it perfect for various contexts: from the entrance area as an elegant surface, to the living room as a refined table or writing desk, to the bedroom as a vanity table, and even in the passage space between the kitchen and dining room, just as Perriand used it in her design of the Les Arcs apartment complex.

Today, Cassina offers the Doron Console in solid Canaletto walnut wood and in glossy or matte lacquered variants in a wide selection of colors—comfort, marron glacé, sage green, China red, midnight blue, black, petrol, powder, cream, and ash—that highlight its unique shape.
